NUSSU COUNCIL
The NUSSU Council is the supreme body of the NUS Students' Union. It takes charge of the administration of the Union, together with the help of the Executive Committee.
The NUSSU Council comprises of elected full-time undergraduate student representatives who are either members in the NUSSU EXCO, or students holding leadership appointments from the 14 NUSSU Constituent Clubs' management committees (10 Faculty Clubs and 4 non-Faculty Clubs). It includes the Presidents of all NUSSU Constituent Clubs.
Very frequently, the NUSSU Council convenes to discuss/debate about policies of the Union to ensure their relevance and consistency to the Union constitutional objects, which are essentially: to promote, uphold and safeguard students' interests and welfare.
The NUSSU Council has been unrelenting in the pursuit of the betterment of student welfare and interest. Its past achievements include working with the University Administration and relevant external bodies for the construction of sheltered walkways, improvement of the SBS bus service 151, academic (S/U options etc) as well as welfare policies.
All NUS full-time matriculated undergraduate students are members of NUSSU; they are also members of their respective Faculty Clubs and All non-faculty-based clubs.
Elections to the Union Council would be completed by the management committees of the 14 constituent clubs before the tenth week of the new academic year. The Union Council shall hold office from the date of election until the date of the election of the next Union Council in the following academic year.
